The Crosswalks
The Crosswalks is a four-building residential and mixed-use development in Midtown Kansas City, bringing together housing, retail, shared amenities, and community spaces. Conceived as an extension of the surrounding neighborhood, the project created an opportunity to develop a cohesive visual identity and placemaking elements that connect the buildings, their residents, and the broader community.

Working from the architectural master plan developed by Kansas City firm Helix, we collaborated with Silliman Group to extend the project's vision into the built environment. Our work included environmental graphics, the intersection design, and a comprehensive signage system that established a cohesive visual language across the property while giving individual spaces their own character. These elements became an important part of the project's placemaking strategy, helping connect the development to the surrounding neighborhood and creating an inviting experience for residents and visitors.
Building on the brand identity and guidelines developed by Kansas City agency Design Ranch, we worked closely with the client's marketing team to provide creative and art direction for the brand's rollout. We developed a range of digital and print assets to support initial lease-up, establishing a cohesive approach that could evolve and be updated for future leasing and resident retention. The work carried the development's visual identity and character into communications with prospective residents and the broader community, creating a consistent expression of The Crosswalks across physical and digital experiences.
